Ann Johnson
« on: July 03, 2013, 04:33:07 pm »
I just received the following from a Railfans of Indianapolis member.

In July 3rd Indianapolis Star:

Anna Mae Johnson, 85, London,
died July 1, 2013.
Services:  Noon July 5, 2013
at Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home,
Moore & Kirk Chapel,
with visitation there from 10 a.m.
--------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to express on behalf of the RFI club our condolences to Ann''s husband, RFI member Tom Johnson, and to their family.

Also a fan of trains and railroad history (NRHS Indianapolis Chapter secretary for many years), Ann was often Tom's driver when he was shooting video while pacing trains, or holding the umbrella trying keep him and the camera dry.  As well as being a part time hobby shop employee for Varry Trains in Cumberland, then  making the move with the shop to Train Central's current location on East Washington Street, Ann also helped Tom when he was set up at the model train swap meets.

Ann was very personable, one of those people that "there were no strangers, just friends she hadn't met yet," so had quite a bit of good influence on those of us both in the railfanning and model train communities.   She will be greatly missed.
