We had the opportunity to attend the opening and dedication ceremonies for The Depot museum expansion on Saturday, July 20th and it was a very successful event. There were 80 -100 people in attendance - standing room only.
Many thanks to Cecil Smith, Pete Pedigo and John Campbell in particular for helping make this event possible. The Monon Society's presence in Salem should be a good "marriage" of interests and activities.
If you haven't done so already, plan to stop in and see The Depot museum and, with advanced notice, it's also possible to have the Society's paper archives open to see.
In case you're wondering, the three pieces of rolling stock (caboose, boxcar and flat car) that The Society had on display in Linden are now located at The Monon Connection museum in the Francesville/Monon area.
