New Accurail Car
« on: April 09, 2016, 02:10:52 pm »
All,

Accurail has up on their site a new-ish Monon car, a howe truss single sheathed wood boxcar numbered 2347.  This would be a stand in for the 1912 cars that stayed on the roster until 1946 or so.  The car is 40 feet long instead of the 36 feet of the real cars.  You can see them here:  http://accurail.com/accurail/ART/7000/7018.jpg

This is the paint they had until the end, though I have seen one photo with the reliable service herald added to the door.  Also, there are some photos that show the roofs black.  Sure is an easy way to add a pre-war car to your roster.

Regards,
