As of 3-9-12 we have 147 paid MRHTS members on this discussion Board. Which is 55 more than we had on the Pic-L list, signed up and using the new MONONBoard. The response on and off of the list has been overwhelming positive to this new forum. This forum is being hosted by Jim Wolfe @ Hoosiernetwork. We are using servers in Chicago and Texas. Jim is a member of the MRHTS and his experience in this type of hosting and administration is greatly appreciated and could not be possible without him. Thank him when you get the chance.
There have been 1254 posts, in 301 topics, made by 123 members. The others members had been reading, but not posting which is fine. The site itself has had well over 15,000 hits from our members just logging in reading the new posts.
To me getting along on this Discussion Board is paramount. Our moderators can move, edit and or entirely delete any post that they feel is inflamatory, rude, critical or just plain complaining. We can help anyone with any issue that comes up. If you screw up and post something that your are not proud of, let a adminstrator or moderator know about and they will fix it. This goes for spelling errors or just plain wanting to change your post due to new and more accurate facts or information.
The administrators and Moderators have my full support in removing or editing any post the might hurt anyones feelings. They will not notify of such a change, they will not enter into any dicussion about it, they will just do it. Complaining about such changes will result in removal of posting privileges.
One of the best things about this discussion board is that the full thread is available at all times to review before you make a comment. The old Listserve left a lot to be desired when coming into the middle of a discussion where the su[not allowed]ect might have moved way off course.
Making new topics is encourage when ever possible. This keeps the tread lenghts as short as possible and keeps the conversation fresh.
Remember, to read only the new posts, the short cut to those is the link directly under your name after you sign in.
Also the Global search for the entire board only works from the HOME page. If you try to search from within a category or topic the search will be internal in that category or topic only.
Have fun, and drag out those photo's you have been sitting on for years and post them ! Let us see what you have been collecting for all of these years !
