Monon/Erie station in Hammond
« on: June 06, 2014, 10:58:06 am »
A new picture from the "Planet Hammond" facebook page: An interesting perspective, taken through the window showing some of the interior and the agent's desk. The photo is dated May 9th, 1968, so this would be just the Erie-Lackawanna station at this point.

Nice picture. Never was inside that depot, but as a child I stood on the platform a couple of times and watched trains. Accompanied my Grandpa up to Hammond to visit someone at the hospital. Before we went home, we went over to the depot to watch the trains, then South Hammond Yard. Early 60's, lots to see.
