Another bevy of Monon steam (and Diesel) photos
« on: September 14, 2023, 12:32:58 pm »
The E. G. Baker collection was donated to the Lake States Railway Historical Association website, and has been curated for viewing. It has yielded another large batch of Monon photos. Watermarked of course, but what a collection! A really nice bunch of clear photos, mostly from the Louisville area, but some from Indy, New Albany, Lafayette, Mitchell. Lots of Steam locomotive roster shots. There's several shots of locos with tenders that have "The Hoosier Line" script: #95, J-1 #530, J-3 #561, J-4's #570 and #577. There are a couple of really old photos of 4-4-0 #135 derailed as well. F-3 A-B-A unit 61 recorded as "the first Monon Diesel into Louisville". Baggage cars 411 and 412 pictured in 1940 at Louisville and much more.

Thanks, Eric.  The Monon Society members could probably supply some detailed captions for these photos.
