That power car is really Nice Stew. I just saw the prototype pics on the other topic list and you did a great job on the model.  I'm going to add one of those to my fleet just because it looks like such a unique piece of eqiupment!
Any tips on where you started, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks

Don,

For the 2200 heater car, I bought a Micro-Trains Troop Kitchen car, such as shown at:
http://www.wig-wag-trains.com/MTLPages/2003-Announced/ClubMTMay03.htm

I've got a copy of Mont Switzer's article for Heater Cars in "The Hoosier Line", which I can't find now, which shows a photo of the roof and what was added.  I cut a piece for the tank under the center, a running board and a ladder for next to the door.  I think there's a window on one side that was covered.

This photo of most of my N scale passenger train was not taken on the club's layout.

Stew, I was just looking at the picture of all the engines in the yard scene.  Wonder if that BL2 has a decoder in it?  If so, how did you get it in there and do you have any tips?  I've got a LifeLike BL2 (older) that is currently apart for a decoder install.  I chopped the weights down and am going to remove one of them alltogether.  Put in a new motor with flywheels and its running smoothly, but I still haven't figured out how to get the decoder (mrc sound) in there and get the cover back on :)

Worse case, I'll put the sound decoder in a box car (rider car or something) and just use a Z scale decoder in the engine.

Regards,

Don K

Don,

None of my locomotives have decoders.

Cool. It's definitely a little challenging in our Scale Stew.  Breaking new ground every time I open up one of these engines...

suggestion---   put the decoder and
speaker in a dummy unit and make the wires look like air hoses
more room for a larger speaker for better sound --
