Anyone know the height of the mast???

I wish you'd asked me just a bit earlier, Tom.  I just saw one at Bald Knob Rd in New Albany (MP 312.90) this past weekend.  Perhaps one of out south enders could go take a few measurements?

Cecil Smith measured the one he has at the depot and said it was 8 feet tall. I don't think there was a uniform height. Steve Long mentioned 7 feet. It may have all depended on where it was to be placed and what was on hand.

Well, for many years one sat west of the tracks near the Mill Street crossing at Lowell. It was behind the former Carlson welding shop. I thought about getting it out of there many times. Finally when I was seriously ready, the Town of Lowell came in and got it at the request of the new property owner. Day late and a dollar short. Story of my life.... :o

I like that,  that right there is a whole lot easier to build then a set of full crossing signals..... I am going to try to build that in 1.8 scale... Thanks for the post~

Our buddy "Green Lite" has been absent the past few shows, ergo, he got the message that I was not going to let him fondle all the merchandise anymore. Or, he found him a green light for real?? As long as he was buying, I would tolerate his antics, once he became a wndow shopper and started being annoying to other, I made him move along.

I went out there today and measured the mast (the green light was missing.) I took 18 photos of it, most with a measuring stick beside the mast and box. Pretty detailed and adds up to a whopper of a file. It would be great if there is a place I could upload all of this.

To answer the original question this mast is 8 ft 2inches tall to the top of the cap.
