I have been told that there is an article in the upcoming issue of Trains about the restoration of Southern 4501.
Apparently the article describes the life of this locomotive as beeing used most on the passenger service to French Lick and West Baden. Which means of course that it turned on the wye and used Monon Rails to West Baden.
I have not recieved my issue yet.

The article says the locomotive was assigned to Princeton, Indiana ( St. Louis Division) during it's last 13 years of service. Due to weight restriction on the it could only operate between Evansville and West Baden or Princeton and Huntingburg. The article also states that the Southern typically moved the M Class Mikados in and out of Indiana over the Monon from Louisville to West Baden.
