Title: RS2 with a green truck...

On page 89 of Monon in Color Volume 2, there is a photo of RS2 55 with “...green paint on the front truck....”.  Anybody know why???

It would be my guess that the green truck was a used truck that the Monon purchased complete either from ALCo, a used locomotive dealer, or another railroad. As I recall, the green truck appeared about the time the RS-2's were being rebuilt so quite likely an extra or replacement truck was required to support that program.
