From Les Beckman

Shakedown Run

The museum added the LYNNE to its three regularly scheduled passenger runs and invited Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum members and members of the Monon Railroad Historical-Technical Society to come along for a shakedown ride.

A few MRHTS members (Eric Reinert, Joe Crnkovich and David Berkey) came down and looked over the 81532 after they had ridden in business car number 2.
Other MRHTS members may have also visited and ridden.

Photo 1 shows a departure pushing westbound as viewed from the HVRM shop area and with the museum's S1 ALCO "smoking it up"!
The Lynne is seen on the head end of the consist.

Photo 2 shows the departure of the 2:00 p.m. train as it prepares to leave the museum's Erie Railroad right-of-way and join the old Chesapeake & Ohio trackage.

Photo 3 shows conductor Mike Cierski keeping a watch from the Lynne's rear platform as the train heads west toward English Lake.

It was nice meeting Les Beckman and Joe Crnkovich last Saturday, as I attended the Noon shakedown run. Afterward, Joe and I went into the shop area and Les gave us the VIP tour of the 81532 that several guys were working on. What a great organization, with so many dedicated volunteers.
