Title: #430 Southbound at Maynard
Post by: Tom Kepshire on February 23, 2012, 05:08:56 pm
Tim and Heggi will love this one. Steam locomotive #430 crossing the PRR diamonds at Maynard Junction. Also not PRR steam waiting. This is one of Bob Schultz's photos that he gave me for the web site. Unknown date.

What I love even more is the PRR locomotive waiting to cross. I have a folder of all the Monon Pictures in Munster/Maynard/AirLine(PRR) and Strathmore....not many but this is only one of three PRR shots...

Another pic of engine 430,

This is at South Hammond by the water tank and crew quarters just north of the roundhouse. I don't know how I missed this photo when it was first posted...

Also there are two 36' long, double sheathed 8000 series boxcars with T-section ends behind.  Hard to find any photos of these.  They look like they are on the ground, are these the crew quarters?  Most of them were retired in 1940.
