Ever since I rode in a dome on the ATSF and Burlington Route, the memory of the dome car has never left. So of course I needed one for the Monon.

Okay, I'll give you that. I rode in one of the Burlington's Vistas WAY back in 1969 between Chicago and Galena, IL on our 8th grade trip. We were instructed not to spend a lot of time monopolizing the dome, but there were several dome cars on that train and plenty of seats, so I rode most of the way there. It was pretty neat. On the return trip, the train was packed and I slept most of the trip.
