In June I was in Salem for the groundbreaking at the Depot Museum. I originally posted two photos that day unaware of the controversy. Since that time the problem has been resolved. I spoke with Pete Pedigo if it would be permissable to repost the photos. He responded in the affirmative. Since my photos are currently locked on an old hard drive I am posting a link to the Indiana Bull Session where I had posted the photos also. Hope it works.

I too was present at the groundbreaking, also unaware of the controversy until later. I just have one picture of part of the ceremony. I agree the museum is a good place to visit. Looking forward to the Society being relocated there.

Sorry - I forgot that you had to be member to view the photos. So here they are.

I recognize Cecil but who are the other 3 men with shovels?

One was the Salem Mayor. Cecil will have to fill in the blanks on them.

Pictured are, from left, Salem Mayor David Bower, Wash. Co. Hist. Society President Danny Newby, John Campbell who is representing The Depot as project director, and yours truly, holding up a shovel.

If they come up with a shovel that can stand up by itself, most of you will be out of a job 8) 8)
