The attached article seems to be stating that the first depot built in Westville was in 1853. The other article is a bit less conclusive, but still tells me that the Creston depot was built around 1882.

I believe that the last Monon depot at Westville was built in the early 1900's, replacing a depot that burned.

I am guessing that the one that burned was the one mentioned in this History of LaPorte Cty. article. Probably no way to know for sure.
Thanks, Mike.

I'll have to take a look through the old Westville Indicators one of these days. There was an article when they tore the depot down in 1964 giving a brief history of the building. I could probably backtrack from that article had dig up some more info on the previous building(s).

The attached image is being sold on eBay. Is this the Monon depot or Wabash?

That's the Wabash Depot in Westville.
Here's another view from around 1960:

Thanks, Eric. Looks like another uninformed vendor is trying to sell on eBay.

That's looking east. The photographer is standing on US 421. That building was burned in 1985 by the Westville Fire Department. I was out of town, but a good friend that was on the fire department saved one of the signs for me.

I was able to do a little research today on the depot in Westville. The last depot, which was torn down in 1964, was built in 1883 replacing a structure that burned.

Here's a poor photo of the Monon's Westville depot.

Here's the same picture, but in color.
