Title: New photo of Dyer depot anf EJ&E crossing
Post by: Tim T Swan on January 06, 2013, 12:16:30 am
Sometime you find MONON pictures where you never expect to find them.

Was at a GM&O-fan friend's house and noticed this photo on the cover of a recent GM&O Historical Society News issue.
Immediatelrecognized the depot as MONON's at Dyer.  The inside cover says the GM&O unit train, crewed by the EJ&E, is eastbound on the "J" in 1966, with a load of southern Illinois coal bound for Commonwealth-Edison's State Line Generating Station on Lake Michigan.
