Title: Bedford Stone Quarry
Post by: George Lortz on April 24, 2013, 10:01:00 am
I found this photo on the Internet.  I've seen a quarry shot similar to this, but this is a slightly different version.  Tracks on the quarry edge maybe give it some Monon content?  It's a good view of how the stone was cut.

Could be a MONON track, Goerge.  Here's a photo I took in 1955 into a PM&B quarry near Oolitic, just north of Bedford.  Note in the closeup that there are two MONON gons.  The large PM&B complex, reached by the MONON from the east via a spur from Murdock, was also served by MILW's Bedford Belt branch.

Tim,

This is one of my favorite shots!  Hard to believe that you were old enough to hold the camera.
