The plan from the beginning of the restoration of the Lynne was to make it as self supporting as possible. It took a great deal of money to upgrade the brake system, move the car from Burns Harbor to French Lick, refurbish the interior and repaint the exterior. The Lynne turned out great and is shinning star in southern Indiana. The MRHTS will receive a percentage of ticket sales for the dinner train in August, September, October, & November.

I am tickled to death that the Lynne will be used operationally. That is what she was built for. It is disappointing to see all the fine equipment at French Lick, and other museums, that are just rotting away. But we all know that it takes $$ and a lot of them for any meaningful restoration.

Hey Pete. There was a time when one of the Crane boxcars was going to be done in a Monon scheme. Are those plans been changed, or just other projects moved to the top of the list? Be nice to see a Monon boxcar next to the Pluto Water Car.

I think Rick Olsen the General Manager at IRM still plans to do that. Last fall they had their plate full preparing for the Polar Express and ran out of time I believe.
