The Fifth Annual Monon Mini Convention and sale will be held on Saturday March 28, 2026, at the Salem Depot. Start time is 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  A Board of Directors meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. and all members are invited to attend the meeting.  There will be modeling and Monon history presentations during the day. Among those presenting will be Rick Dreistadt, Mont Switzer, Dave Morrison and Jim Craig.  The yard sale will be in the basement from 9:30 to 12:00 p.m. and the Washington County Historical Society will have their Monon HO scale layout operating in the basement. A local church group will be serving lunch mid-day. Plan to join us for a fun day and admission is only 2 bucks!!!!

SAVE THE DATE!! Our Annual Convention is scheduled for August 28-30! We return to the North end of the state.  Our headquarters will be at the Hyatt in Munster, IN. More will be shared as details are finalized.

Monon caboose 81532 is presently wrapped to protect it from the elements and in cold storage at Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum.  The project manager, Kevin Norman, is presently organizing workdays for late winter.  Volunteers are needed and the schedule will be posted on our website www.monon.org.  If you have welding or electrical skills, you are needed to help with this restoration. Volunteers helping last year were John & Amy Butler, Don Toon, Stan Conyer, Wayne Zeman and Joe Crnkovich.

Stores Department has expanded our supply of Monon merchandise recently to include sweatshirts, HO models and a book written by former Monon Dispatcher, Rick Dreistadt. They can be ordered through our web site www.monon.org.

By far the most requested HO model is the 1956 Monon Wide Vision caboose. Paradise Car & Loco produced these cars exclusively for us. These are unpainted resin kits and are priced at $75.00 each. (Brass models have been available from Overland for decades and currently sell on E-bay for $300-$500)!!! Detailed instructions are included with the kits.
