Re Photo #3.   I have been told that in that group of people in the lower right corner, you can find Ron Marquardt.

Ron loves to tell that story, doesn't he? I think the whole population of LaCrosse was in that photo. I know I would have loved to have seen that train. Big doings back then.

That's true, I was in that group that morning.  I was about 8 years old at the time.  My grandfather took me over to see that train, but I don't know for sure which one I am.  I wish I knew for sure.  / Ron

How many times have you enlarged the original copy trying to locate yourself? I know the feeling Ron. When I first bought the Hilton book I was shocked to see my Dad and younger sister Donna pictured. I spent several weeks tracking down Jim Boyd to see what other photos of that day existed. He told me that Frank Van Bree had more photos. Then I found out they were in the photos destroyed when Frank's house caught fire.  Dad is guy in the foreground with you little girl on his shoulders. The Tavern is also pictured in the distance.
