Train of Tomorrow on the Monon-1947
« on: August 02, 2024, 02:35:30 pm »
Found this in the May 29, 1947 Hammond Times. It has my Uncle's Grandfather, George Rausch, as Engineer for at least a portion of its time on the Monon. Interesting reading. I talked to Paul Rausch today, he says he remembers family talk about the phone call. George took the Train from South Hammond in to the museum grounds near Soldier Field where GM invited the public to tour it.
