Wish I could remember the L&N days! I may have been too little back then. I do remember SCL, and Family Lines System. This photo is definitely at Mitchell. Train is southbound getting ready to cross the B&O.

This one is identified as Monon, Indiana. 1972. That is all the information I have, other that it may be a Kevin Nelson photograph.

     This picture brings back memories.  The Monon always had 2 units (quite often 3 and  sometimes 4) on Train 56.  Within a couple of years, the L&N had dried up enough of the Michigan City Branch that they used only one unit and didn't run on Sunday. 

     These engines are on the Michigan City line at Monon and are probably picking up out of the south yard.
