According to an Annotated Employee Timetable list printed June 10, 2010 employee timetables in the Society’s “Hybrid” Collection. (Both original and copies of the timetables for which we do not have originals are listed.) The list was made and compared (updated) with the list maintained by the National Association of Timetable Collectors (NAOTC) lists for all railroads.

This list is available on a two CD set from stores with the list and copies of the last series of timetables (CIL#1 thru MON #18) along with selected other employee and public timetables.

This list was issued in June, 2010 and covers the period from issuance of NA&S #6 (issued January 1, 1855) listing originals or copies or not available until CI&L#4 (issued April 25, 1954) and all originals thereafter. It includes Louisville and Nashville #1 issued September 10, 1972 which was the first timetable issued covering  what was by then the former Monon Railroad.

It should be noted that the list is not current. Some of the listed timetables noted as copies not in the collection or noted as originals not in the society’s collection MAY have been added either as copies or originals to the collection. I do know that most if not all of the originals in the Indiana Historical Society’s “Monon” collection have been copied and are now in the society’s collection with restrictions on  further copying or distributing. All may be seen at WHQ. Also you may go to the INHS in Indianapolis and have them make copies for your personal use at the reasonable per page copy price.

The fifth column of the list headed “Status with MONHTS Archieves” has codes for each timetable indicating its 2010 status. The codes are:
O = Original in the society’s archives
C = Photo Copy only in archives made from original in an outside collection. (library or private individual)
c = Only a copy known to exist there is not a copy in the society archives
o = An original has been observed in an outside collection. Only notes were made for the society’s use.
x = It is not known if an original exists. The description is based on the”supercede”data on the next timetable which has been observed. Also, it may have been advertised for sale.
X= Only information is a listing on a list by the National Association of timetable Collectors (NAOTC).

I wish we could make all available but that would require negotiating with the INHS at an unknown additional co$t.
