This advertisement was in todays Bedford Times-Mail paper. While I have known Olin since the 1960s, I had no idea that he collected railroad items. I probably will have to attend this one, since I have plenty of time on my hands now. Heh Heh Heh

In the auction notice: what would a "smoke stand" be?

That might be an ash tray stand from a passenger car.

You are correct. I went over and saw it. It was a stainless steel (?) - at least shiny mirror finish - stand with 4 or 6 cup holders (ashtrays?) on top and the Monon "M" and arrowhead cast in the base. I didn't stay for the sale as I did not want to face my wife with a bunch of probable high $ purchases. I can't remember if "The Depot" has one or not.

Cecil could better answer that. But I seem to recall that there is one on display. Near the seat that came from one of the observation cars. What say you Cecil?
