Listserve gone?

So are the old Listserve archive gone forever? I see the dead link is no longer displayed. Having joined the Society just this year, I was working my way through them - there were lots of nice little nuggets of information floating around there and it was fun going mining for them.

Yes. Pete Pedigo reported at the Annual Meeting that the files at IU were lost during the conversion to a new system. Not only the Monon Lists, but all Listserves at IU. All gone.

Dave Ritenour printed out and saved a large number of the mesages displayed on the List-Serve. The messages Dave saved were given to Cecil Smith by Ron Marquardt for preservation at Salem. I assume some arrangement can be made with Cecil to review those messages that now reside at Salem.

Indiana University was in the process of changing software and servers when we moved to the current Monon Board.  The Listserve Software had issues and was not being updated or repaired.   There were a couple of dozen users of that old listserve besides us.   John Stigall, our sponsor at I.U. warned us that they were going to change over.  At that time it was unclear if the file could be or would be converted.  The links we had at the top of the homepage to those archives went dead a couple of months ago at least.  We knew that day was coming, we just did not know the out come.  John may be able to shed more light on this su[not allowed]ect when he reads this.

I sure like this new system. Less clutter. Can find what I'm looking for. More of a historical society, less of a social club.  The su[not allowed]ect titles are a nice way to find things I'm interested in. Easy to navigate.
