Ken Weller, the current Vice President of the Monon Railroad Historical - Technical Society has decided not to run fo re-election for Vice President. He made this annoucement through the Nominating Committee Chairman, Larry O'Connor, via email just prior to the May Board of Directors Meeting. Ken has been the Vice President for several years and said " it is just time someone else to step up to the plate."
Ken has always been a gentleman on the Board of Directors as long as I have been around. He is a good ambassador for the society and enjoys putting together power point shows for organizations around central Indiana. He will continue to do those programs when called upon.
However, given his decission, we need you to nominate candidates for this Office. You may nominate yourself if you so desire.
The job description is: The Vice President shall assist the President as directed by the President and shall perform the duties of President in his absence. He shall succeed the President in the event of death, resignation or removal from office.
All Officers and Directors serve without compensation of any kind. The Board of Directors meets six times per year. Officers and Directors are required und the Society's By Laws to attend no less than four Board of Director's meetings a year.
