Passenger Train Photo from Locomotive
« on: May 03, 2014, 05:48:38 pm »
This photo was posted on eBay recently and is a shot from the locomotive back along the side of the passenger train.  It looks like an RS-2 running short nose front.  There was no caption provided for the photo.

Anyone have any ideas?

I don't have any concrete information, more speculation, but knowing the Monon used the RS2's many times on exhibition trains and employee outings, it is possible this was on one of these exhibition trains? Mixed consist of new ex-army cars and heavyweight passenger cars. Just putting in my 2 cents.

Maybe it was a Derby train.

Maybe it was a Derby train.

I thought the same thing at first but the vegetation looks like summer, which would put it after the Derby.
