This was the day the temporary depot at Monon was removed and the new depot was placed in service. That is my dad's Western Union GMC truck to the right of the crane in the photo. Dad's old work log for June 8, 1953, indicates he spent 5 hours in Monon that morning moving the Western Union clock for the temporary depot to the new depot. At that time in his career dad was an equipment maintainer for Western Union based in Lafayette. The photo is from one of Cookie's photo CDs available in the company store.
