IB&W Question

I found this photo recently on the Internet and wondered what was the story about the Indianapolis Bloomington & Western.  The attached photo of IB&W #64 had no caption with it, but made some reference to the NYC.

Anyone know some history about the IB&W?

Looks like the P&E through Crawfordsville as well as the Big 4 from Indy east into Ohio.
Seems like the 1880s was the big time for mergers.
