The entries for the various Fischer employees is very confusing.   We know that John C was the father of Mark and I believe Charlie was a nephew of John C.  However, the file shows  John A as being the son of John C and says John A is brother of Charlie.

It is very confusing but I think I have it typed right now.

By the way, I believe that [not allowed]y Fischer is NOT THE SAME

I hit the wrong key again.

I meant to say that I do not believe that [not allowed]y Fischer is the same as Charlie Fischer.

"Fields   W         trainman on train 71   7/29/65"

This would have been Wilson Fields, Jr., and he wasn't a trainman, he was an engineman.  Hired out as a fireman and was later promoted to engineer.  Later fired for poor performances, and never returned to work.

A word about use of terms trainmen and enginemen.  Railroaders used the term "trainmen" to apply to brakemen and conductors.  They used the term "enginemen" to apply to engineers and fireman.  Just because a crew member was on a train, doesn't necessarily mean he was a trainman.

I've heard some stories about Wilson Fields.  The best one is that he thought he could set the brake on every other car in his train by fanning the brake valve.
