Interesting set of locomotives on Train #72

From Lloyd Kimble collection.....
An example of every first generation Monon road locomotive on one train...... I'm sure only some were the power, the rest were part of the train.... still altogether at the same time near MP 310, and Tom Smart got this photo...

When the Railroad quit buying fuel at Lafayette a few years ago, they sent locos dead headed to Avon to fill up. I have seen several heading up small trains SB through Linden.

I heard the reason they quit buying off the tank truck was their practice of delaying payment from 90 to 120 days. The suppliers in Lafayette raised their prices to offset
carrying them for that long.   ---------

The MONON never did that ---
