A number of carpenters are at work in the old Salem street waiting room of the Monon making
the necessary alterations to transform the room into a modern dispatcher's office. It is thought
the room will be ready for use by the first of the month, when the wires will be cut in. In the
building there will be four private offices, one for each of the trainmasters, and also for the two
chief dispatchers. The fixtures will be all new, the tables now being built at the shops.
In this office there will be employed six dispatchers, five operators, and two messengers. This is
one of the most important changes the Monon has made since the shops were moved here. It
will be one of the largest dispatcher's offices in this part of the State, and will bring a number of
families that now reside at Monon and Bloomington to this city.
