I knew Max.   He was running 44 and 45 when I was in high school.   He was one of the good guys and I used to see in occasionally, Walmart or the mall.   He always had time to talk.  I am attaching a picture of when he worked the Fair Train.   I don't know all of the men in this picture but I think the only one still alive is George Moorhouse.   Ron can correct me.

Max was a great guy. Always friendly. He lived 2 houses over from me growing up. There was always a ball game going on in his yard or when we played army, his yard was home base. His youngest son was just like him. All kids were welcome to join the games. Phil worked for the N&W for a while and I worked with Ron on a work train dumping stone between Cloverdale and Lafayette once when Ron was working the middle div. It was good to see some old familiar faces at his visitation/service.
