James Hickman

NORMAN — James E. Hickman, Jr., 66, of Norman, Ind., died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at IU Health, Indianapolis. Born October 1, 1947, in Sullivan, he was the son of James E. Hickman, Sr. and Lillian Mae (Criss) Hickman. He married Barbara A. Burris on December 4, 1965, in Coalmont (Clay County) Indiana; she died November 19, 2012.
He was a tree trimmer, retired; a member of Fairview Community Church, Bedford, and a member of the Monon Historical-Technical Society.
Surviving are four sons, Paul (Donna) Hickman, Vallonia, Ind.; James Hickman, Brazil, Ind.; Mike Hickman, Norman, Ind.; and Dale Hickman, Norman, Ind.; one daughter, Linda St. John, Spencer, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tom (Mary) Hickman, Freetown, Ind.; one step-sister, Debbie Page, W. Virginia; and one step-brother, Wesley McCarthy, W. Virginia.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Lynch.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday, October 4, 2013, at Fairview Community Church, Bedford with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, at Fairview Cemetery, Linton, Ind.
Friends may call on Friday, 10 a.m. until noon at the Fairview Community Church, Bedford.
