The biggest complaint about the old Listserve was that it sent out dozens of worthless email notifications to people not interested in every like blurp that someone wanted to post. Often including off topic, and sometimes rude complaints, about personalities, correcting grammer and being "politically correct". Everyone was tired of that system of recieving sometimes 40 or more emails a day. We had persons continuously wanting to be taken off of the list due to the above. Since we have started this new MononBoard, there have been few, if any such complaints.
Here is how to use this board.
If you want to be involved in a Topic in real time, meaning getting a email notification of every post to that topic, Click on "Notify" at the end of the last post in that Topic. You will then receive a email telling you that a conversation is taking place in that Topic only.
If you do not want to receive emails, but check for new posts at your leasure in any and all Categories or Topics, Click on the Red line under your sign in name "Show Unread Posts Since Last Visit". This will give you a list of any new Categories and any post to any Categories since your last visit. You do not need to surf the entire Categories list looking for new posts, ever, unless you just want to refresh your memory or chime in on an old post and voice a comment.
I want to point out that on the old list we often had fighting and arguements and on this new MononBoard we have had zero such situations.
This Board also keeps the thread perfect, meaning the su[not allowed]ect matter is also on target thus there are no complaints about forgetting to put a "Su[not allowed]ect" on the email to keep the thread sorted correctly.
It would apprear the sports talk and political talk have moved onto other venues as it should have.
On a lighter note, break out some of those Monon Photo's you are hoarding and we will chime in. LOL
