RUTH ELSIE DASCHBACH

PORTAGE, IN Ruth Elsie Daschbach, age 87, of Portage, IN passed away on December 31, 2014 at Clare Bridge Assisted Living Center in Michigan City. She was born on July 17, 1927 in Louisville, KY to William Walter and Alma (Happel) Littlefield Sr., who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Edward Daschbach of Portage; daughter, Linda Gail (John) Thatcher of Indianapolis, IN; niece, Susan (Chris) Bell of Arizona and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lee Carey and brother, William Walter Littlefield Jr. Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Louisville Girls High School. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader, an avid reader, and enjoyed ceramic arts and crafts. Ruth sang in the choir at St. John United Church of [not allowed] in Michigan City. She retired as an office manager for National Life Insurance. Additionally she worked as a bank teller at First National of Valparaiso in Portage. She also worked in the Payroll Department at Joy Manufacturing and Monon Railroad. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John United Church of [not allowed], 101 St. John Rd, Michigan City, IN 46360, with Pastor William Fine officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. John United Church of [not allowed]. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John United Church of [not allowed] in Michigan City.
