Location of Town of Paisley
« on: December 08, 2015, 11:41:47 am »
There has been talk recently of the town of Paisley, which no longer exists.  It appears that it was somewhere between the south end of Cedar Lake and the Paisley trestle, Has anyone been able to locate the former town on a map or aerial view.  Do any remnants of the town still exist?

Attached is a scan of an old Indiana railroad map showing an approximate location of Paisley.  I have also attached an edited photo of the Paisley depot and a hotel in Paisley.  Both images show that there were other building nearby.

The southwest side of Cedar Lake is where Paisley was. There were a couple of hotels and general business located there. Several large ice warehouses that sat on the south end of the lake were also considered part of Paisley. Today Lil Tulip Harbor sits where technically Paisley was. Maybe Brian Sok can weigh in because he lives in what would be considered Paisley.
