Amazing...

I always wondered - was State Line staffed by a single operator or did they have a helper on some shifts? It seems like trying to keep 100+ levers set up for constant traffic would take more than one person...not to mention the need for a maintainer to be on call in the (seemingly likely) event that the levers and pushrods became stuck or frozen.

Some very nostalgic pictures even though I don't think that I ever visited State Line tower personally. I do like many of the pictures posted, but the two Monon F-units are particularly nice to me. I am wondering, is the first car in the passenger train headed by the Monon RS-2 a Monon baggage car or some other railroad's?
