Obituary for Thomas Ray Foster
Thomas Ray Foster of Bloomington, Indiana was born July 30, 1938 at home in Bloomfield, Indiana, to Clarence and Olive Foster. He entered into his heavenly rest August 3, 2018 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana.

Proceeded in death were his parents, Clarence and Olive (Myers) Foster, a son Monty Ray Foster, and a sister Evelyn Pickard, and a former wife, Rita Jo, and four brother-in-law’s, Bill, Larry, and Don Adams, and Jerry Russell.

Survived by his wife of 47 years Nancy Adams Foster, a son Thomas Joe Foster from New York City, and a daughter Penny, and son-in-law, Tom Ramon, and grandson, Luke Ramon from Bloomington, Indiana, step grandchildren, Lindsay Davis and Tom Ramon, Jr. both of Bloomington, step great grandchildren Emma and Gracie, two sisters Marilyn Russell of Linton, Indiana and Juanita Chesterfield of Bloomington, Indiana. Several nieces and nephews and four very devoted friends, Tracey Stahl, Harold Quimby, Billy Watkins, and Jim Johnson. And a host of friends.

Tom was a retired switchman on the CSX railroad for over thirty years. He was a member of Greene County Chapel. He was an avid horseman and a member of the Monroe County Saddle Club.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Greene County Chapel Methodist Church in rural Bloomfield, with Rev. Jim Webster and Rev. Juanita Chesterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Chapel Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Greene County Chapel Church or IU Health Hospice House.

Tommy Foster was a good friend, a good railroad man, and a good [not allowed]ian gentleman.  He was a regular attendee at our monthly Monon breakfasts in Bloomington, and we always enjoyed his company.  He will be missed.  Rest in peace old friend.
