You are all correct. We stayed there for several years after it was converted to a hotel. Indoor swimming pool, three bars, two restaurants, a really good place. It was six stories high, and if someone threw an empty "coka-cola" can out of a sixth floor window, and it hit the tin roof on the house across the alley (in which people were living), you could hear it four blocks away, especially at 3:00 AM., and it took them 35 seconds to call the police. This is not speculation. We ran this test several times, (other guys, not me) and it worked the same way every time. That may be why they moved us from the Poplars downtown to the Graham Hotel. Just a wild guess.
As information, the Graham hotel was eight stories high, but the windows were painted shut, and there were no tin roofs around. It was much quieter for those of us who wanted to sleep. / Ron
