Monon baseball special(s)

Attached is a ticket for a baseball special on the Monon.
This one is from 1958.  Which team won the game?

I wonder if anyone from the Lafayette VFW took pictures of the special train?

My guess would be the Yankees.  That was a stacked Yankees team, as they all were in that era!

August 3, 1958 the Yankees lost both ends of a double header to the Chicago White Sox.. 1-3 and 0-4. That was back when they played Sunday double headers.

Bet that would have been a great trip to participate in.

Here is another VFW baseball special from Lafayette to Chicago, this time 1960.

Another double header in which the two team split. The White Sox lost the first game 6-2, but won the second game by a 6-4 score. After winning the American League in 1959, the 1960 Chicago White Sox finished 87-67 and in 3rd place, 10 games behind the New York Yankees.

The Special ran on 7/20/1952 and was orginated at Anderson, Indiana on the Central Indiana Railroad.
