Old coach

This is an old photo that I took in January 1969 of an old Monon coach #86.  It was parked along the Lafayette belt railroad east of Union Street.  It is long gone but looked like it had been there for a long time in 1969.  It had truss rods.  The MONON lettering was still visible in the middle of the car.  Unfortunately, I can't find any other photos and this may be the only one I took that cold day.  That is snow on the ground.

Actually, it was south of Union St.  Union St. runs east-west and the belt railroad run north-south.  Bob Gibson

Bob, I thought I might find you a good picture of that car, but I looked through everything and we don't have anything with that number on it, either in passenger service or MOW service.  Sorry.  Kinda looks like the truss rods need to be tightened up a turn or two on that car.   ;D  / Ron

I remember there was a company that cleaned cars in that vicinity
Could this car have belonged to them ?.

In 1969 it didn't look like the car was being use for anything.
