1906 Section Gang

Here is a photo of a Monon section gang taken at Cataract in 1906. The third man from the right is W.H. Smith. The photo was sent to me by his Grandson, Chuck Smith. No others people were identified. Anyone recognize anyone?

I will check Ken. By the way, if memory serves me correct, the I&L branch did not start operations until 1907. If theis picture is circa 1906, this was part of the construction. That would explain the massive stacks of what look lie ties in the photo.

Ties to the left maybe, but those stacks to the are right dimensional wood for building structures like depots, sheds etc.
