Big Four bridge conversion update-Louisville

This mornings Louisville Courier-Journal has a great update on the progress of the Big Four RR bridge being converted to a walking/run trail.  This may be of interest to those in the south end.

Years ago - possibly while I was still in college in the 70s - I remember a column or two in the Louisville newspaper about the Big Four Bridge - the writer (it might have been Joe Creason, well known Kentucky columnist of the time) opined that there ought to be lots of high-end restaurants in the Louisville area serving squab - if only to make a small dent in the pigeon population that inhabited the bridge.

It is good to see it finally being used for something instead of just rusting away into the river.

It will change Jeffersonville's river front with some added eateries, etc.  The Great Park on the Lou'ville side
will be even nicer.
