Thanks for looking that up in the ETT collection! My grandfather was not a railroader, but lived all his life right on the Monon at Leipsic. His memory of such details was always pretty good.
Now, if we could just figure out what happened to the contract between my great-great-great-grandfather, Jacob Johnson, and the NA&S, for the grading of one mile of roadbed north out of Saltillo...Grandpa loaned it to John Barriger for the 1947 centennial, and it disappeared into some archive somewhere. I've checked with the Barriger collection in St. Louis and they say they don't have it; I have not looked anywhere else recently.
