IT'S OPEN Big Four bridge conversion update-Louisville
« on: February 07, 2013, 09:42:55 pm »
Attached are some photos from the opening of the Big Four pedestrian bridge.  All is cool, quite nice, but allowing dogs
to crap on it, may need reconsideration.

The last photo shows the Jeffersonville side, still under construction.  The bridge offers great views of the Louisville skyline
The one shows the superstructure which is art and more.

Didn't the Monon at one time in the distant past use this bridge, before it switched over to the K&I bridge?

This was The Big Four bridge. The Monon used the Pennsy, now the L&I bridge.

We walked across the Big Four bridge on Sunday.  The surface is great, I didn't measure the distance between the two lines in the pavement to see if it is 4' 8.5".  I think it would be an outstanding location to watch Thunder Over Louisville next weekend.
