I recently had a discussion with Dick Cantwell, longtime Monon employee who was involved with the initial use of the power car 2200, and he told me this. The car had been built to provide auxiliary power for the coaches parked at French Lick, but was only used once in that capacity. The first time it was used down there, after about six hours it blew a piston in the engine providing the power, and before it was repaired and returned to that service, power lines for the coaches were installed, so a power car was no longer needed. What use, if any, it had after that is not known to him. / Ron
