Paul McGrane Monon Diesel Photo Collection
« on: January 02, 2014, 07:09:55 pm »
Here are seven Monon diesel photos posted recently on APBR Archives.  They are part of the collection of Paul McGrane, but there is very little information about them.

George L., I believe the 1st photo (of #407) was taken in New Albany.

Yes, the first one is at New Albany.  The depot is on the left, and Tommy Lancasters restaurant is on the right.  I believe the restaurant is closed but the building is still there.  The second one, from Youngtown yard is interesting with 3 generations of locos.  It was taken when the C420's were coming onto the Monon, and the C628's were being replaced.  I can't say where the next to last one was located but it looks like the Indpls. branch.
