West Baden - Unusual Photo
« on: April 05, 2014, 08:21:20 pm »
I found this photo on eBay taken from the front steps or a balcony of the West Baden resort building looking back toward the entrance.  You can see the Monon depot in the distant center of the photo.  This may be an old postcard, but I'm not sure of the date.  Based on the vintage of the car, I'd say the early 1900s.

Interesting, anyway.

Here's another photo I found on eBay which was taken from the front of the West Baden resort looking toward to the Monon tracks.  The depot would be off to the right of the photo and there is a string of boxcars (hard to see) in the siding.  The boxcars are just visible between the lamp posts.  The archway entrance to the resort is in the far right lower corner of the photo.

Interesting photos, George!  Note how in both shots the entrance boulevard is up on an embankment above some wetlands.  Today it is all relatively level and dry lawns.
