South Hammond Yard photo

Many photos of the south end of South Hammond Yard show the big Hammond water tower. Here is an interesting photo of the foundation construction. No date on the photo but it looks to be early 1950s judging by the cars.

Bob, I think your dating of the photo is right on if that's the old yard office to the right of the fuel tanks. That's a 1952 Ford Wagon in the background, so this photo is probably from 1952 or 1953. I believe the old yard office was razed shortly after the "new" freight house was built in 1954.
